The National Social Security Administration (ANSES), an agency under the Ministry of Human Capital, reminded that retirees and pensioners have the option to appoint a representative to manage or collect their benefits.
According to the Argentine News Agency, this option is also valid for appointing a temporary representative in case the beneficiary is unable to move around.
Requirements and types of representatives
- Institutional Representatives and Other Professionals: Beneficiaries can choose from:
- Public Entities: National, provincial, or municipal.
- Institutions: Mutual and social assistance organizations.
- Lawyers or Attorneys: They require a power of attorney certified by a notary.

Directors of Establishments: For individuals hospitalized in hospitals, sanatoriums, or nursing homes, the director or administrator can be appointed.

Family or Private Representative:
- Any person over 18 years of age can be a representative.
- If the chosen person is a family member, the procedure does not require a prior appointment.
Procedure: * It is recommended to verify that the beneficiary's and family group's data are updated in my ANSES. * Then, they must go to the nearest office with the beneficiary's ID and documentation that proves the family relationship.
Residents Abroad: * Those residing outside the country can grant a power of attorney to a bank that has the "international transfer" option to process the collection.
Authorized Banks: Banco de la Nación Argentina, Banco de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Patagonia S.A., Credicoop Cooperativo Ltdo., Banco Piano S.A., and Banco Comafi S.A.
